Founded in 1957, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (USSH) conducts training activities in 29 fields of social sciences and humanities. It currently has 22,000 students at the bachelor's, master's and doctoral levels through 54 training programs. The USSH aims to become an autonomous university in 2019 and a research university in the field of social sciences and humanities.
The draft USSH Development Plan consists of seven strategies:
-
Human Resources Development;
-
Training;
-
Scientific Research;
-
International cooperation ;
-
Political missions, student affairs, and building a university culture;
-
Infrastructure and Finance;
-
Governance and quality assurance in higher education.
The training component is one of the priorities for the USSH in order to: strengthen its own skills and human resources; define a partnership strategy in order to pool its resources with other actors involved in higher education and research. Within the framework of the socio-economic needs that characterize its environment, it is a question of developing actions and projects associating the USSH with the socio-professional milieu in order to promote the employability and professional integration of its graduates.
In the face of these challenges, it is imperative for the SSHU to define an operational action plan to strengthen its undergraduate, master's and doctoral training offer by focusing on the following activities strengthening the structuring of its training offer according to the model of research-oriented universities; improving the training program, approaching the CDIO model and continuing the development of certain training programs according to AUN-QA standards; establishing a training offer by integrating methods adapted to each type of training; providing society with high quality human resources; applying modern and creative teaching methods; improving the governance of its training offer; implementing teaching methods adapted to online courses
The USSH also wishes to strengthen the partnership strategy in the fields of training and scientific research. The modernization and efficiency of investments in infrastructure and the good management of educational material are also the short- and medium-term objectives of the USSH.
The USSH is part of the Internal Project Committee (IPC) and the Steering Committee (CoPil). USSH:
- Supports the WP3 Coordinator in the "External Environment Analysis; Local National and Regional Context" within each partner HEI; the analysis and formulation of the strategic vision within each partner HEI; and the identification of key success factors specific to each HEI.
- Participates in all project activities to achieve the targeted objectives.
- Hosted part of Sequence 2 allowing the restitution of Work Packages 2, 3 and 4 and the initiation and realization of Work Package 5 concerning the evaluation and analysis of strategic plans.
