Founded in 1975, Danang Polytechnic Institute (DPI) IPDis a component structure of Danang University, which combines teaching, research, and technology transfer services. DPI consists of 8 administrative departments, 14 specialty faculties and 11 research and technology transfer centers and institutes.

IPD currently has about 14,000 students and 600 teachers, researchers, and administrative staff with 35 engineering training programs, 5 engineering training programs in collaboration with foreign partners, 17 master training programs and 13 doctoral training programs. 50% of its teachers have the title of doctor and 45 teachers are professors.

IPD has implemented an internal quality assurance system. This scheme was recognized by the Vietnamese Ministry of Education and Training in 2016, accredited by HCERES in 2016. It has 3 CTI accredited engineering programs (2015-2020) and 9 AUN-QA accredited engineering programs (2 in 2016 and 7 in 2018).

Regarding research, every year IPD teachers carry out about 100 research projects (at the state, ministry, university, and provincial levels) and publish about 500 articles in international and national journals and conference proceedings, of which 70 publications are indexed by ISI and Scopus.

The IPD also emphasizes international cooperation with several institutions around the world. These collaborations include joint research projects, hybrid training, organization of scientific conferences, exchange of teachers and students...

As a major technological university in the largest city in Central Vietnam, IPD is committed to achieving the goal of becoming a research-oriented university in 2020 and a research university in 2025.

 

Role in the project

 

  • The IPD is part of the Internal Project Committee (IPC), the Steering Committee (CoPil), the WP Leaders Committee.
  • IPD is the leader of the WP2 concerning the self-diagnosis of the degree and characteristics of university autonomy.
  • The IPD is responsible for developing the methodological reference guide for self-diagnosis of the degree and characteristics of university autonomy.
  • The IPD organizes regional workshops (Cambodia and Vietnam) for the restitution of the results of the self-diagnosis and also the workshop for the elaboration of the self-assessment reference tool.
  • The IPD hosts the interim meeting to support the implementation of the multi-year action plan, which is an opportunity to take stock of the situation and the progress of the work, and to continue the training for good governance of universities.
  • The IPD participates in all project activities to achieve the expected objectives.
