The University of Western Brittany, UBO (1971), is a comprehensive university based in Brittany (France). UBO offers more than 300 degree programs in the fields of science, humanities, technology, medicine and law to 22,000 students, 9% of whom are international (representing 100 nationalities). More than 100 doctoral theses are defended each year. Based on 39 research laboratories and carried out by 1,300 researchers, research at UBO is structured around four research axes: Sea, social and human sciences, digital and mathematical sciences, health and agro-materials.

UBO encourages interdisciplinary exchanges and the emergence of innovative research projects. UBO is experienced in the management of European projects since the 4th PCRD and is involved in 21 H2020 research projects (€4.9M), in 9 Erasmus+ projects, in 3 Interreg programs and in numerous other European initiatives. UBO therefore has extensive experience in project management, with support in IPR and financing.

Role in the project

The role of UBO in this project is to participate in the development of the university self-assessment plan, in agreement with the University of Health Sciences of Phnom-Penh (USS-P8), leader of WP4 . This involves using the experience acquired in the evaluation of Faculties of Medicine to transpose it into a broader academic field. It is also about exploiting the experience resulting from long-standing collaborations with different universities in South-East Asia.
