Launch of WP 5
On May 4 and 5, 2021, at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, the launching ceremony of the project's activity package 5 was held, with a specific goal: the development of strategic planning tools for each higher education institution member of the project.
Partner universities in Cambodia and Europe also participated remotely.
"The launch of these new activities is a reward for the tireless efforts of the entire PURSEA project team despite a difficult context marked by the COVID-19 pandemic," said Nguyên Thi Cuc Phuong, Vice-Rector of Hanoi University and coordinator of the PURSEA project, during the video conference on the development of strategic planning tools.
For Professor Jean-Marc Lavest, Director of the Asia-Pacific AUF, according to the strategic axes of the Vietnamese Ministry of Education and Training, the strategic framework for the development of higher education (vision 2021-2030 and vision 2050) is of a very high priority. The work carried out within the PURSEA project contributes to this reflection. "The transition from theory to practice, from diagnosis to strategy development in Lot 5 is a crucial element in the PURSEA project stage. It is a considerable amount of work that was done under difficult conditions, without being able to travel, with experts at a distance, with people who continued to work to move this project forward."
"Since its establishment 60 years ago, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities has been one of the two most reputable institutions, training a considerable number of staff and managers to serve the country's development. Participation in the PURSEA project is a particularly good opportunity for us to continue to improve," said Lê Hoàng Dung, vice-rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (under the National University of Ho Chi Minh City). He adds that since 2019, his university has entrusted the implementation of the project to strategic level executives and staff. "The members of this team hold an important place in the development of the university's current strategies."
After the launching ceremony, the participants will immediately start the first training-action module of the WP5, which will take place in 2 days.
